Sunglass Warehouse 2014 Summer Lookbook: Elaine from Romantic Fawn

If you had to choose one item from your closet to take with you on a deserted island, what would it be?

Elaine: I’d bring a skort because it’s very versatile! I rarely wear pants — mostly because I feel like they’re boring. In a skort, you could run and jump around and still look cute and girly!

If you could have lunch with anyone (past or present), who would it be and why?

Elaine: I’d have lunch with Sofia Coppola! I’m a huge fan of her films, and she’s super intelligent. I can imagine her talking for hours about different films and books and philosophies, and I would be sitting there super starstruck trying to soak up all the knowledge.

What would you consider the ultimate fashion fail?

Elaine: For some reason, I really can’t find myself liking those chunky sandals that are popular these days. They just seem uncomfortable and awkward!

What is the best fashion advice you have ever received and from who?

Elaine: The best advice I’ve ever received was from my aunt, when she told me to get personal with my style. She said that fashion is art, and artists got personal and deep with their work and that’s why people looked up to them. Most of my style is inspired by my nostalgia for childhood, so that’s why I dress really girly and childlike. Trends are so short-lived, there’s no point in trying to be a part of something that everybody just pretends to like. People will like and appreciate your unique, personal style!

If you had a personal theme song, what would it be?

Elaine: My personal theme song would be Objects In Space by La Dispute. There’s not really a reason why, but I just love listening to it! La Dispute is one of my favorite bands.

What’s your current Internet addiction?

Elaine: My current Internet addiction is Polyvore! I’ve been using it for almost 4 years, and I’m still obsessed with it. It’s so interesting to see the sense of community — you meet and talk to so many new people. Everyone has different opinions and ideas, and it’s cool to hear the contrast. Everyone also has their own unique style, and it’s so much fun creating new looks.

What are your typical Independence Day festivities?

Elaine: On the Fourth of July, my friends and I have this annual pool party and a barbecue, but we don’t usually invite a lot of people because we want to keep it special. In the nighttime, my whole neighborhood meets at the local park and lays out blankets and foldable chairs to see the fireworks — it’s so much fun!

What sunglass style personality do you best identify with and why? (Great Adventurer, Trendsetter, Party Rocker, Indie Artist, or Superfan)

Elaine: I’d identify myself with Indie Artist, because I love love love making art, and independent music is my fave. You don’t know how much this sunglass style accurately describes me, haha.

And since you have an eye for fashion — what are some of your favorite Sunglass Warehouse shades?

Elaine: People usually think it’s strange, but I’m crushing on heart-shaped and circle-shaped glasses so much! The Oversized Round #244s and Celebrity Heart Style #1971s are adorable!

Thank you, Elaine, for spending time answering our questions and getting to know us. We love your fun patriotic style!
