If you had to choose one item from your closet to take with you on a deserted island, what would it be?
Kelvin: I would take my Cole Haan LunarGrand shoes! They are very comfortable, and since I would be doing a lot of walking and running on the island, I would want the stylish comfort those bad boys offer.
If you could have lunch with anyone (past or present), who would it be and why?
Kelvin: I would have lunch with Andy Warhol! Teaching his work as an art teacher, I have grown to love his personality. I think we would share a great artistic insight on the world we live in now. It may sound crazy, but I often think we share the same genius at some levels. I’m not going to go on an artistic rant saying I’m the modern day Warhol, but he would be an amazing person to chat with in an Amsterdam coffee shop.
What would you consider the ultimate male fashion fail?
Kelvin: I consider cargo shorts an ultimate male fashion fail. Personally, I think if you try too hard to be something or someone you’re not, you have fashionably failed. My advice to all men is to be yourself and wear what makes you feel 100% confident. Everyone loves a confident person, so own who you are!
What is the best fashion advice you have ever received and from who?
Kelvin: My dad always said, “As long as you truly love yourself, it doesn’t matter what you wear.” My parents always taught me to be proud of who I am, so I try to show that through my personal style. If you care about something, you take good care of it, so why not take care of yourself?
If you had a personal theme song, what would it be?
Kelvin: My personal theme song would be Happy by Pharrell Williams. I think the song embodies what I feel 95% of the time!
What’s your current Internet addiction?
Kelvin: My current Internet addiction is my Instagram. I just love the Instagram community — it’s safe, mostly spam free, and filled with love.
What are your typical Independence Day festivities?
Kelvin: Grilling food, hanging out with my family, drinking beer, talking about the upcoming football season, and laughing a lot.
What sunglass style personality do you best identify with and why? (Great Adventurer, Trendsetter, Party Rocker, Indie Artist, or Superfan)
Kelvin: I would say that I’m a cross between Trendsetter and Indie Artist because I love big sunglass frames that are unique to an individual style.
And since you have an eye for fashion — what are some of your favorite Sunglass Warehouse shades?
