Whether you’re dressed to the nines or sporting the ugliest sweater you can find, the holiday season (or as we like to call it — party season) presents the perfect opportunity to show off your personal style. That’s why this winter, we’ve challenged crafty DIY bloggers with the task of transforming our shades into holiday glasses that are 100% unique. Check back each week as we feature new frames or browse the entire batch of DIY-ed styles here.
Today’s festive frames come from Chantelle of Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market.
- Polka dot sunglasses (I used these)
- Hot glue
I loved the polka dot frame already on the sunglasses, so I definitely wanted to incorporate that style into my new, crafty creation. I started by removing the flower (as cute as it was!) with the screwdriver.
I then began by wrapping the gold glitter ribbon around the arms of the glasses. But, like with every good idea, sometimes you need to re-evaluate and head in a new direction. The ribbon was too heavy and wasn’t wrapping like I wanted it to. Plan B? Use the lace! (Apply a little hot glue to get the lace to stay.)
I then used the ribbon for the bows instead (using a little hot glue to hold them in place)!
Thanks again to Chantelle of Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market for teaching us how to DIY sunglasses with a bow for the holidays!
