As usual, the VMAs brought plenty of surprises, celebrations, wonderful performances, not-so-wonderful performances and downright awkward moments. One of the best moments would have to be Beyonce announcing that she and Jay-Z are expecting.
I'm guessing a prodigy in the making...
Fun fact for all you social media nerds out there: Beyonce’s big news set a new Twitter record for the amount of tweets being sent per second at 8,868.
One of the most outrageous parts of the show would have to be Lady Gaga dressed in drag. Of course, what more could you expect? What do you guys think, was this better than the meat dress?

While we are talking about fashion, I have to mention Nicki Minaj. What was she wearing? Was she locked in a toy box prior to the show?
Britney Spears looked happy and healthy. What do you think of her amazing comeback?
Last, but not least, there were plenty of celebrities rocking their sunglasses at night. The surprise “Beastie Boys” moment was definitely a standout one and included some of my favorites, retro sunglasses and aviators.
Get with it, Will Ferrell. Where are your shades?
It wouldn’t be the VMA’s without the Biebs, right? We have no one to blame, but ourselves. Justin Bieber took home a Moonman for best male video.
